Planning guide · 6 minute read
Organize revision around an exam date.
An exam date can help you decide what to schedule next. This guide turns the date into a visible planning sequence while leaving course requirements and study choices in your hands.
Start with verified assessment details
Write down the exam date, time, format, location, and any stated scope using the official course page or instructor communication. If any detail is uncertain, label it as uncertain and confirm it. Avoid building a plan around a date copied from an old calendar or an unofficial post.
In StudyFlow, an exam record holds a title, subject, date, and optional note. The countdown is calculated from the date you enter, so check that date before using it to plan.
List the material and work that remain
Use your syllabus, lecture schedule, reading list, and assessment instructions to make a simple inventory. Separate topics you have not reviewed from tasks such as gathering notes, asking a question, or checking required readings. The inventory is for planning; it does not judge your preparedness.
When you do not know how much time a task will take, avoid presenting a guessed duration as a fact. Choose a tentative slot and adjust after you see how the task fits your week.
Work backward without filling every day
Place the exam date on the calendar, then look at the open times before it. Schedule a few concrete tasks that fit those windows. Keep buffers for changes, competing assignments, and time away from study. If a course publishes a recommended sequence or required activity, use that information instead of a generic template.
There is no single schedule in this app that is proven to work for every student. StudyFlow helps record the plan you choose; it does not determine the right amount of preparation.
Link related sessions to the exam
When creating a study session, choose the associated exam in the optional exam field. Linked sessions remain in the general planner and also appear in context from the exam view. This makes the relationship visible without changing the session or exam data.
If a session is for another course task, leave it unlinked. Do not link unrelated work just to make an exam card look complete.
Re-check the plan as details change
When an instructor updates the scope or date, edit the exam entry and review its linked sessions. When a task is complete, mark that session complete. The weekly progress indicator counts those marked sessions; it does not measure understanding, accuracy, or exam readiness.
